Single-Analyte Meters (SAMS)
Exceptional Value and Convenience
|
Single-Analyte Meters (SAMs) provide unprecedented economy, simplicity, and accuracy in dedicated photometers. They are available for use with Vacu-vials® self-filling ampoules and COD vials.
Simply snap a Vacu-vials® self-filling ampoule in your sample, and read your result in seconds, or insert and read a COD vial. SAMs provide results equivalent to dedicated meters and probes costing much more! Each SAM Vacu-vials® kit contains an instrument, 30 ampoules, light shield, sample cup, instructions, and an MSDS. COD vials are purchased separately for use with COD SAMs.

* LED photometers do not produce accuracy and precision equivalent to that attainable with spectrophotometers. The use of LED instrumentation is not recommended for COD measurements which will be used for NPDES reporting. ** This kit performs 20 "Tubetest" tests. No self-filling Vacu-vials ampoules are used. *** Contains mercury. Dispose according to local, state or federal laws.
How to use Vacu-vials® with SAM kits for fast, simple, photometric analysis.
| Step 1. SNAP. Fill the snap cup with your water sample, then snap the tip of a Vacu-vial ampoule as shown in the diagram above. Vacuum will cause it to fill instantly with sample fluid and mix with the pre-measured reagent inside. |
Step 2. MIX. Mix the contents of the filled ampoule by tilting it up and down several times, each time allowing the small bubble inside to travel from end to end. |
Step 3. READ. Insert the filled ampoule into the cell compartment of your instrument and read the result. |
Light Source: Light-emitting diode (LED). Optical Path: 13 mm (Vacu-vials®); 16 mm (COD vials). Photodetector: Silicon photodiode. Power Source: One 9-volt alkaline battery (40 hours of use). Precision: 0.1 ppm
